WHEN WE GO INSIDE, we find not just one mind, one pair of eyes, one voice telling us about the world, but hundreds, all of them with different visions and opinions, all of them jostling for attention and fighting with each other, pulling in different directions.

If we keep on looking inwards, eventually we will see that behind this inner Piccadilly Circus there are other eyes also who are watching, but theirs is a different kind of presence. No clamour, no disputes, no noise, no comment at all. These are the silent eyes of the watcher, the one who is aware of the drama from all the others while remaining always calm and cool. And when that awareness becomes aware of itself also, then it has become the witness, at one with the pure undivided consciousness that is the whole.
